The key points for me were: wrap-around design that also allowed the screen to protected by a raised edge around the screen and covered buttons. I, like many I suspect, was surprised and disappointed that Apple do not make an official leather case for the iPhone XR (at the time of writing).Īs such I did some research into third-party alternatives that appeared to offer the same features. I also think the (included) micro dock is a great feature - I have CarPlay in my main car, but I also drive a 55-year old VW and this means I can attach it to the (metal) dash easily. My trousers were ripped and I'd a massive bruise along my leg, but the Nodus did the job and the phone was unscratched (although the case was scuffed) My old iPhone 8 took a hammering when I came off my bike. This time I've opted for the dark teal leather which I think looks good. I had to wait a couple of weeks before getting the case and my XR felt massively vulnerable (and slippery!). I love the soft, almost "sticky" quality of the leather which makes it feel grippy and reassuring. Paired with an Anker screen protector they stop all but the most catastrophic phone accidents. I get that they won't appeal to everyone and they do have limitations, but overall these have been the best iPhone cases I've owned (and I've had pretty much every model since the original). However even the most expensive aren't to everyone's taste.
